“There are some who believe that the path to Republican victory is to run to the mushy middle, is to blur distinctions,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said in January in response to a question about Romney. “I think that recent history has shown us that’s not a path to success. It doesn’t work. It’s failed electoral strategy.”
After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 Referring to Cruz’s time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, “Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant”

We can trust Ted Cruz to follow our constitution. He is the most qualified to be President Left or Right. Cruz is someone that the left is going to try and dig up garbage on, because he doesn’t claim a strong alliance with any side, he plots the course he believes in.
James Carville: Ted Cruz “the most talented and fearless Republican. He has no fear,Ted Cruz will eat their lunch”
Ted Cruz Vowed to Put strong Conservatives on the Supreme Court. As examples, he cited Chief Justice John Roberts, an appointee of President George W. Bush, who rejected a challenge to President Barack Obama’s health care law in 2012, and Justice Anthony Kennedy, a Ronald Reagan appointee, who voted in 2015 to make same-sex marriage a constitutional right. Both cases were decided 5 to 4.
His goal? To match Democrats’ “nearly perfect record” of picking justices who vote reliably with their movement. “The Republicans have an abysmal record. We bat about .500,” he said “About half of the nominees Republicans have put on the court have not just occasionally disappointed but have turned into absolute disasters.” His ideal contender would be someone who has refused to bow to pressure, rather than a “stealth candidate” without a demonstrable conservative record.
The land-related provisions in the defense authorization. In his statement, Cruz criticized “self-serving politicians” for trying to “exploit” the annual defense authorization and called on colleagues to reject the current draft: At a time where jobs are scarce and the federal government has removed billions of acres of land from productive use, Congress should not be restricting more than a half-million new acres. Four federal agencies — the Bureau of Land Management, the Forest Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service — oversee the acres owned by the government. The land-related provisions in the defense authorization angered national security experts and conservative groups alike.

“Number one, don’t arm al Qaida. Don’t arm those who hate us. Don’t arm those who want to kill us.”
Sen. Cruz indicated as many as “seven of nine” primary rebel groups in Syria are tied to Al-Qaeda, and he quoted from reports that the Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri had said one of the main rebel groups in Syria acts on his orders.
